What is allowed here, and what is not
Playing 12MaR means agreeing to these. They are written the way the game is — plainly, and about what actually happens.

Who may play
You need to be 13 or older
An account on 12MaR is for people aged 13 and above. If you are under 18, use it with your parent's or guardian's permission — they should know you are playing with strangers, talking to them in chat, and that a match can carry voice and video.
If we learn that an account belongs to a child under 13, we delete it. If you are a parent and believe your child has made one, write to us and it will be removed.
Your account
An account belongs to one person
Keep your password to yourself. Do not lend, share, sell, buy or trade an account, and do not run more than one for yourself. Whatever happens on your account is treated as something you did.
The reason is the ranking. It is a record of who actually played those matches, and an account two people share is a record of nobody.
You can close your account yourself at any time, from Settings inside the app or from the page below.
Conduct
What is not allowed here
These apply to everything another player can see or hear from you — chat, voice, video, your display name, your avatar and your profile. There is no exception for a joke and no exception for a private match: a board with two people on it is still a place another person is.
- Harassment. Going on at somebody who wants to be left alone — in chat, on a call, or by challenging them over and over.
- Threats. Anything threatening violence or harm to a person, to their family, or to their property.
- Hate speech. Attacking anybody over their religion, sect, ethnicity, language, nationality, colour, gender, disability or caste.
- Sexual content. Sexual talk, sexual requests, or sexual material of any kind — in chat, on a call, in a name or in a photo.
- Nudity. Showing on camera any part of the body that would not be shown in public.
- Impersonation. Using somebody else's name, photo or player number, or passing yourself off as 12MaR staff, an admin or an appointed commentator.
- Cheating, or a modified client. Playing on an app you have altered, letting an outside program choose your moves, keeping a second account to feed your ranking, or agreeing the result with an opponent before it is played.
- Spam and advertising. The same message over and over, or using chat, your name or your profile to advertise anything at all — other apps, betting sites, or anything offering money.
- Sharing other people's private information. Somebody's phone number, address, photographs, workplace or family details — neither posting them nor threatening to.
Chat is deleted when the match ends and calls are never recorded — but a report filed during the match is kept with it, so nothing here is unenforceable just because the words have gone.
Child safety
Child sexual abuse and exploitation is prohibited absolutely
12MaR prohibits child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) in every form. That includes child sexual abuse material; sexualising a child in chat, on a call, in a display name or in a photo; grooming; sextortion; trafficking; and any attempt to arrange contact with a child for any of it. It is prohibited whether or not a child is actually present, and whether or not anyone was harmed.
Any such content is removed and the account behind it is closed immediately and permanently. There is no warning step, no suspension step and no appeal to a warning that was never given. We report the account and what it did to the authorities — in Pakistan to the Cyber Crime Wing of the Federal Investigation Agency, and internationally to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children through its CyberTipline.

This address is for child safety and for serious abuse, and it is read by a person. A report about a child is dealt with before anything else, whoever it comes from — a player, a parent, an organisation or an authority. Tell us the player's display name and player number, and the day and time if you have them.
Inside the app the same thing is reported with the flag icon on a player's card, choosing the reason "Sexual content or danger involving a child". That reason sits near the top of the list on purpose, so nobody has to guess which one covers it.
If a child is in immediate danger, call your local police first. Reporting it to us is not a substitute for that.
Consequences
What happens when a rule is broken
Depending on what was done and how often, one of four things — and more than one of them can apply at once.
- A warning. For a first slip that harmed nobody.
- A suspension. The account cannot play, chat or enter a tournament for a period.
- A permanent ban. The account is closed and it does not come back — and neither does a new account made to get around it.
- Forfeiture of coins. Whatever coins are in the account when it is banned go with it.
They have no cash value and they never convert to money. If an account is banned for breaking these rules, its coins are not refunded — and that is true whether they were earned, given as a gift or bought.
Child sexual abuse and exploitation, and threats of violence, go straight to a permanent ban. There is no earlier step for either.
Reporting and blocking
How to report somebody
The flag icon is the report button, and it is in three places: on a player's card during a match, on their profile, and in the chat. Tap it, pick a reason, and add a note if there is something worth saying.
The reasons are: abusive or hateful chat; harassment or threats; sexual content or danger involving a child; inappropriate camera or microphone use; cheating; spam or advertising; and something else.
A report is kept with the match it came from, so what shows up on our side is a pattern rather than one person's word against another's. You are told whether it actually landed — a report that failed to send is never shown as sent.
Blocking takes effect the moment you tap it. It does not wait on a report, it does not need anybody's approval, and nobody reviews it. The person cannot chat with you, call you or challenge you, and you stop seeing them.
The person is never told they were blocked. That is deliberate: telling them would turn the one control a harassed player has into a reason for revenge.

Results and ranking
The server decides a match, not your phone
Every online match is played through again on our servers when it ends, and the score, the winner and the ranking points are worked out there, from the moves themselves. Your phone cannot write a single ranking point, a single coin or a single tournament standing — even your own app is refused if it tries.
Trying to forge any of them — a result, a ranking, a coin balance, a tournament place — ends the account. So does interfering with somebody else's match, or with the servers themselves.
The service
The game is provided as it is
12MaR is free to play and is offered as it is. We do not promise it will always be available, that a match will never be lost to a dropped connection, or that every part of it is free of faults. Matches, boards and results are deleted on a schedule set out in the privacy policy, so nothing here is a permanent archive of anything.
We may change or stop parts of the game, and we may change these terms. When something significant changes you are told in the app before it takes effect, and the date at the top of this page moves.
Nothing on this page takes away a right you have under the law where you live.
